Centers on a young earthworm named Barry who is fed up with being at the bottom of the food chain. All the other insects in the backyard consider earthworms to be major losers: no arms, no backbone and no brain! One day, an old disco record turns Barry’s life upside down and suddenly there’s light ahead: Barry wants to start the world’s greatest disco band.
Barry este un tânăr-râmă sătul de lipsa de respect pe care i-o arată celalate vietăţi. Toată lumea consideră râmele nimic mai mult decât nişte vietăţi inutile, fără braţe, fără coloană vertebrală, fără creier. Într-o zi, după ce ascultă un vechi vinil disco, viaţa lui Barry se schimbă complet. Îşi propune să facă orice pentru a-şi îndeplini cel mai mare vis al lui: să lanseze cea mai mare trupă disco a tuturor vremurilor.
