Anim’est 2012 call for entries!

Save the dates! Submission Deadline: June 15th, 2012 Festival: October 5-14, 2012, Bucharest. Dear filmmakers, producers, distributors and friends of animated films, the 7th Anim'est International Animation Film Festival will be waiting for your shorts & features in the next few months.  The deadline for submitting your films to the 7th edition of the festival is June 15th. We are glad to announce the opening of the call for a brand new competitive section: Minimest - reserved for shorts appropriate for children aged 4-12 years old. Body Memory - Anim'est proposal for Cartoon D'Or 2012

The sixth edition of the Anim’est International Animation Film Festival officially closed on Saturday evening, October 15 at Patria Cinema. At the end of the Closing Gala, scheduled at 19:00, the Anim'est Trophy, offered by the Romanian Cultural Institute, went to Estonia: Body Memory (d. Ulo Pikkov, Estonia, 2011) is the Anim'est’s proposal for Cartoon d'Or 2012, being the first year the festival submits a proposal for nomination to the most prestigious award dedicated to European short film animation. The prize, awarded by Shane Acker, Guest animator of 2011 Anim'est, and the festival’s director, Mihai Mitrică, was taken by Mait Laas, the filmmaker of Kings Of Time documentary, the project in the Masters of Puppets section.  Read more...
