Isle of Dogs special screening at Anim'est 2018

Isle of Dogs one of the long awaited feature films of the year, will have two special screenings at Anim'est this year.

Directed by acclaimed Wes Anderson, already with solid festival presence (Berlin, BAFICI, SXSW, Glasgow) and several awards, the film is wonderful, touching, fun and sad at the same time.

Set in a dystopian future Japan in which dogs have been quarantined on a remote island due to a „canine flu”. Five local dogs – Chief, Rex, Boss, Duke, and King – are fed up with their isolated existence until a boy named Atari Kobayashi ventures to the island to search for his dog, Spots. Atari receives their help and protection from the Japanese authorities who have come to retrieve him.

Isle of Dogs comes with a special guest at Anim'est 2018: Marjolaine Parot (France), stop motion animator with a two decade-career in the industry (Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie, Claude Barras’ My Life as Zucchini”). As a key animator for Wes Anderson's film, she will present the "Making of Isle of Dogs – the animation process".

The presentation is scheduled on Saturday 6 October, at CINETic Centre, at 2 p.m
