At its 14th edition, Animest dares animation directors and producers from Romania and Moldova to let the projects out! Pitch, please! centers on short film projects currently in pre-production stage. It is an initiative that the festival started several years ago, to stimulate and promote the local animation creatives, offering them the opportunity to improve under the supervision of a professional, then present their promising ideas in front of a professional jury.

This year’s winning project will be awarded a double (director and producer) accreditation at the CEE Animation Forum. The accreditation offers not only access to all the workshops and networking sessions of the event, but also covers the transport and accommodation expenses of the winning team.

The competing teams will be trained over four days, during Animest 2019, by screenwriter and director Cristian Pascariu and animator and director Dan Panaitescu, who will provide the participants consultancy for their pitching, for their story development and creative and technical inside in furthering their project.

The jury consists of film professionals Jožko Rutar (Slovenia), Matei Branea (Romania), Olga Pärn (Estonia), and Priit Pärn (Estonia).

Jožko Rutar is in charge with the CEE Animation Workshop. He will talk about the forum and the animation industry in the region.

From 2011 to 2016, Jožko was Managing Director of the Slovenian Film Centre. He is an EAVE graduate and its Slovenian national representative. He is a lecturer at the School of Arts – University of Nova Gorica. He offers consulting services in film development and financing and works as a decision-maker on various film funding bodies.
