Sara is an award-winning animator and director with more than 30 years of experience in feature and short films, commercials, storyboard and character design. In 2002 she founded her own animation studio, Koppel Animation, where she makes hand-drawn animations with complete creative freedom.
Over the last years she made 20 small independent hand-drawn animated art films, in the area of Erotic/Political/Environment & Gender issues. Sara is currently working on a new 10-minutes animation, 2nd Day & The End of the World. You can find her work on www.nakedlovefilm.com.
After a doctorate in molecular physics, Richard created his first company and started building high-performance computers. He is introduced by his wife Sarah Van Den Boom to the beautiful world of animation and meets the future founders of Papy3D on the Internet forum Les Fous d'Anime. It's the beginning of a true friendship which culminated in the founding of Papy3D Productions, where he puts to the test his expertise in company management. As a production director he was in charge of three projects in 2019, with other three projects currently in production and in development.
Jürgen is an academic researcher and curator working at the interface of animation, game and media art. He studied art education, experimental visual design and cultural studies at the University for Art and Design in Linz. Currently, he is a Professor for Computer Animation and Media Studies at the Hagenberg Campus of the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria. Since 2014 he is the co-head of the research group Playful Interactive Environments. He has been involved in the activities of Ars Electronica Animation Festival since 1997 in a series of different functions. Since 2017 he is the director of the festival.
Sarah was trained at The School of Art Direction and Interior Architecture Penninghen and then in the animation workshop of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. She then worked as an animator, animation assistant and character designer. She also directed ads for Acme Filmworks in Los Angeles and worked with the National Film Board in Montreal. In 2006 she participated in the creation of the production company Papy3D Productions. Raymonde or the Vertical Escapeis her fourth animated film and the first made with puppet animation.
Kaspar was born in 1975 in Tallinn. He has been interested since childhood in writing stories for which he made illustrations and his first moving pictures came into being in the corners of his school notebooks. He has been part of the creative core of several rock groups, written song lyrics, made arrangements and created tunes. He went to the Turku Arts and Media School in Finland in 1997 to study animation under the guidance of Priit Pärn.
After graduating he started to make films that have been shown all over the world and won multiple awards. After several short films, his first feature, Captain Morten and the Spider Queen, was released in 2018.
Born in Bucharest, Alex spent a few years of his childhood in Germany where he picked up classical music studies that he later on continued back home at the National Music University. He plays the trumpet, flute, keyboards and drums. Golan is an electronic-acoustic band consisting of Mihai Ristea and Alexandru Burcea. The group is one of the first local acts that combine electronic music with acoustic instruments, vocal melodies and sampling in a unique way.Their musical backgrounds mix in Alex's classic and jazz influences and Mihai's melodic compositions with contemporary electronic music and alternative pop.
Aria was born in 1979 on Earth, a naturally occurring planet in the Solar System. She is a self-taught filmmaker, photomonteur, and animator. She is best known for her animated films, which are notably influenced by the photomontages of Hannah Höch and the oeuvre of mistress Margaret Dumont.
I have a Journalism diploma, I am a presenter and producer for The Morning Guerrilla radio show. I am half of ‘Matilde’ duo, and half of the musical directorate, which I share with my colleague Matei Oprina. I am a photographer. I breathe music, I attend concerts and festivals, I am a supporter of volunteering, hard work, common sense and passion. I am lucky because I do exactly what I wanted to do.
Gregor is a multimedia artist and co-founder of Depart (1999), working with text, image and sound, combined in alternate surrealism.Their wide portfolio includes interactive installations, live performances, prints, sculpture, VR experience, with a clear goal: leaving immediate, yet timeless impressions on the audience. Deeply rooted in the digital they explore the ritualistic character of algorithms and venture deliberately into the uncanny, creating unique moments that are coined by formally rigorous and profound aesthetics.
Ştefan is a founding member of the Partipipal community. Simultaneously, his passion for computers and gadgets introduces him to a new challenge, Virtual Reality. Since he first tried the new technologies in 2016, he has been developing the brand Loop Virtual Reality Solutions, as part of Partipipal Events. The brand currently has numerous collaborations with agencies and various partners for novel projects, some of them never seen before in Romania.
Thomas is a filmmaker, CGI artist and teacher. He graduated from Supinfocom (now called Mopa) and he is based in London. He is the co-founder of the artist collective Bandits Collective, who created Egoand Aujourd'hui. He is currently working on a VR short film called The Little Things.
