"BLAK" documents a night in the reality of a graffiti writer from the sewers, who is out on a mission to get his name up, in a dystopian world where public space is controlled, surveilled and commodified. Through exploring the intimate relationship that develops between the graffiti writer and the act of doing graffiti, the film dwelves beyond the personal - and raises questions regarding the socio-political context which creates the conditions for the culture of graffiti to exist. Through metaphors, juxtapositions and similes, the film examines the role of public space within capitalism, alongside the question of who ultimately has the right to claim it.
