Anim’est parties at Control Club
Every day, after the festival’s projections, good cheer and entertainment will move to Control Club.
Anim’est parties week in Control Club opens on Tuesday, October 9, starting 10pm, with Sonic Play and Pericol. Sonic Play, an electronic music band, with live drums, is Liviu Pop’s new project, a Romanian-born drummer, established in the U.S., a constant presence on the music scene in New England, working with various jazz, blues & soul artists, in addition to his own group.
Pericol (Danger) is actually Matze and Rolf. It takes the form of a live audio and video "dialogue" between Rolf and Matze, on two different screens side by side. "Words" that make up the dialogue are pieces cut from the TV, samples that were previously captured, adapted to an electronic music arrangement.
Wednesday, October 10, from 10pm, the animation is shaken by an insane live act of Șuie Paparude. The band started in the autumn of 1993, in an alternative atmosphere - new wave, and is among the pioneers of electronic music in Romania. Currently, Șuie Paparude has seven albums, thousands of concerts in front of millions of fans and a cult band status for young audiences in Romania. Entrance fee is 15 RON.
Thursday, October 11, from 9pm, we are going to initiate AniMusic Night in Control Club. The video&advertising section’s projection will be followed by a special musical and visual performance of the band Warren Suicide LIVE, an electro-punk-art experimental band. The band is an audio-visual experiment started in 2003 with a small strange drawn character who became the band's image. Warren Suicide means Nackt and Cherie, and many, many more: 3 albums, 8 singles, dozens of compilations and remixes.
AniMusic Night continues with a concert by the band Fierbințeanu, a digital-pop music duo formed by Gabriela Fierbințeanu (vocals) and Cristian Fierbințeanu (computer, bass, vocals). The two are joined by Alexandru Bălă (aka Plurabelle - keys, computer). The ticket price is 20 RON (concert only).
The first day of the weekend is preparing a great show: Chew LiPS, the British electro-pop band returns to Romania for the second time. Friday, October 12, 10pm starts with the Romanian artist Paul Ballo aka Hot Casandra and continues with a performance of the British DJ JG Wilkes, the Optimo duo’s half. The ticket price is 30 RON.
The night of October 13 is dedicated to the festival’s closing party, Tim Hecker and Environments will captivate the audience with some electronic rhythms on Saturday, from 10pm in Control Club ‘s new hall: Berlin. The Canadian sound artist Tim Hecker is one of the most celebrated and prolific musicians of the electronic style in recent years, his compositions being described over time as a "structured environment", "color spectrum sound of tectonic plates" or "departments’ electronic echo". The artist is praised for new musical structures he provides and also for the clarity of these abstract sounds. Entrance: 20 RON.
