Day 2 Anim’est 2010
The Minimest section opened the second Anim’est day and gave the children a chance to have lots of fun at the zoo of colourful balloon animals caught by the BluParty zoologists and sneak past the characters in the short films screened from 12:30 am at Patria Cinema. The children were able to learn more about colouring and calculating out of the Noriel Maxim magazines, My Little Pony, Ben 10 and Bakugan. A picture gallery can be accessed here.
Wes Anderson’s feature film, Fantastic Mr. Fox was the star of the evening which gave the American director’s fans the opportunity to see him in action in the new context of animation, in Metropia and Boogie the Slickster, two films responsible for heating things up with shocking topics and never before seen animation styles.
The Anim’est sheep, redesigned by the festival’s friends, animators Marius Pandele, Anton Octavian, Dan Panaitescu, Sergiu Negulici and designers Vasi Alboiu and Cristian “Canu” Banu was the inspiration source for the shape of the 2010 Anim’est trophy, and it is being displayed in the Patria Cinema lobby starting October 9th 2010.
