What better way to end a Tuesday than by taking part in Animest’s most nonconformist screening? Curated by Jakub Spevák (Slovakia), the selection promises explicit nocturnal screenings exploring the body, desire, and the fluidity of identity. Among the standout titles are the animated documentary IMMATURE (directed by Eddy Wu), which explores the vulnerability and body image of a gay transgender man, and Underground Lovers, a short by Italian master Gianluigi Toccafondo – a feverish journey through Tokyo's nocturnal excesses. The program is rounded out by unexpected fantasies like Skin Flick, the sensory metaphors of Sensual (directed by Tanja Nuijten), and the bizarre satire Courtship.com (directed by Ann Dinh).
The only way this selection gets any better? If you attend, of course!
