At the end of the 1930s, Hubert is a fifteen-year-old from Ghent who helps his father in his barbershop. Like many young people, he is passionate about cinema and a brand-new musical genre, jazz. His love for it has developed over the long hours spent listening to his father's radio, an authentic Kolster Brandes.
