Pitch, Please! - 1st edition

Pitch, Please! - Edition 1

"Pitch, Please!, the project competition dedicated to animation filmmakers from Romania and the Republic of Moldova, brought together some of the most prominent names of the young generation of local animation artists. The award offered by the Romanian Filmmakers Union and CEE Animation Forum was presented by Laurențiu Damian to artists Bogdan Benea and Andra Berilă for their project Glenda, The Devil-Blessed. A special mention was given to Oleg Condrea, the Moldovan animator currently working on Time Guardians.

Other participants in this edition included:

  • Glenda, The Devil-Blessed -directors: Bogdan Benea and Andra Berilă,
  • The Art of Losing Your Teeth - directors: Horia Cucuță and George ve Ganaeaard,
  • The Fisherman - director: Izabela Pitica,
  • Time Guardians - director: Oleg Condrea.

 

The projects were evaluated by an international jury including:

  • Priit Pärn: Animated film director, comic book artist, and graphic designer.
  • Jožko Rutar: Former Director of the Slovenian Film Centre, film producer, and consultant in film project development and financing.
  • Matei Branea: Professor at the National University of Theatre and Film Arts "I.L. Caragiale" (UNATC), specialist in animation and interactivity.
