Pitch, Please! - 2nd edition

Pitch, Please! Edition 2

CEE AnimationPolish Animation Producers Association

 

The 2020 edition of the Pitch, Please! program, organized by Animest Association with the support of CEE Animation Slovenia and SPPA – the Polish Animation Producers Association, focused on supporting young animation creators from Romania and the Republic of Moldova. During this edition, the project Happy New Year, directed by Radu Gaciu, was awarded the grand prize and received a double accreditation for the director and producer at the CEE Animation Forum 2021.

 

Out of the eleven submitted projects, five were selected for the mentorship program:

  • In Good Company – Director: Ana-Maria Gărdescu – (special mention)
  • Mr. Ladybug – Director: Ioana Păsărin
  • Fata din umbră – Director: Oleg Condrea, Producer: Vitalie Popov
  • Happy New Year – Director: Radu Gaciu – (winning project)
  • Bird in Hand – Director: Andrei Bucureci

 

The participants received guidance from mentors Cristian Pascariu and Dan Panaitescu, along with special guest Katarzyna Gromadzka. The projects were presented to the public on November 14, 2020, and evaluated by an international jury consisting of:

  • Matija Sturm (CEE Animation) – Organizer and film producer from Slovenia, known for his work in animation film production.
  • Katarzyna Gromadzka (Animarkt) – Executive producer and stop-motion coordinator, expert in coordinating international projects.
  • Paul Negoescu (FILM+) – Director and founder of the Timishort Festival, renowned for his success in European cinema.
