The Escalator

Three people are struggling up an escalator that is going down. As they walk, they discuss the big questions - what is the point? Two of them, the strivers, are of the opinion that happiness is to keep going and working your way to the top, while the doubter wonders if it is not better to relax and stay with the stairs to the bottom. The escalator is a metaphysical fable, a dystopian picture is drawn of an alternative reality that is a parallel to our own world, a parallel that is to be depicted with an industrial design and a heavy and repetitive sound track where music and content slide into each other to create an unreal and ghostly atmosphere, while voices, dialogue and animation are to bring out the human in the situation. The escalator is a parable, the man in the machine who seeks to find meaning in it all.
