Joan C. Gratz first time attending Anim’est

Winner of the Oscar for Best Animated Short in 1992 with Mona Lisa Descending a Staircase, American animation film maker Joan C. Gratz will now come to Bucharest to participate at the 6th edition of Anim’est. The latest short she directed, Kubla Khan is part of the International Short Competition of Anim’est 2011.

Inventor of the animation technique using painted clay dolls, Gratz will hold a conference (entrance is free) on the topic of doll animation in general and her specific kind of animation in particular. During this conference, she will present four shorts she directed: Mona Lisa Descending a Staircase (USA, 1992),  Pro and Con (USA, 1993),   The Dowager's Idyll (USA, 2001) and the Puffer Girl (USA, 2009) – Friday, 14th of october, 7:00 p.m. at the Sala ArCuB
