The Romanian Competition starts at ArCuB

Wednesday, 19:00, ArCuB Hall, one of the most anticipated Anim’est competitions dedicated to local productions is engaging in. The Award for Best Romanian Film, offered by ICR, will be knocked down to one of the 20 Romanian titles.

This year’s selection also includes new-comer animators’ films such as The Dog and a Little Bird and Travelling With My Thoughts Full of Hope, produced by Adrian Băluță, The Fresco – The Curse of Dragulea - short film by Ion Octavian Frecea, which had its world premiere in the Anima International Animation Film Festival in Brussels, Action Movie - directed by Bogdan Mihăilescu, last year’s nominee for the Gopo ”Young Hope” Award for the Grand Cafe, Tihamer Török's Clinic, Euro potentia Est, the newest Tamas Szocs short film, Are We European!?, directed by Fekete Szabolcs, Florin Drăgoi’s Wake Up, The Thistle’s dream - signed Nina Mihăilă, It's a Living by Cristina Zoica-Dumitru and the winner of Best Animation Film Award of the 2011 Anonimul Film Festival, Growing by Roxana Bențu, one of the six members of the Crulic – The Path to Beyond feature film’s animation team. Sebastian Cosor with The Scream, a MediaPro Magic production representing Romania in the Balkanimation competition, Klára Balázs, with The Dance, Ana Tomescu, the Chromatic Evolution short film director, Radu Gaciu, with IRA, Vlad Sandu, director of [klun], Andra Berilă , who signed Mr. gRAPE, Zoltani Levente, director of The Sphere, Octavian Ureche with Voxelboy. These are the new names that 2011 Anim'est Romanian Competition selection brings in for the public eye. Dodo and Tic, directed by another debutant in the National Competition, Gabriel Vasiliu, is another notable presence in the festival: a future local animated series pilot, it will also be the main subject to a festival’s presentation at the Union Cinema.
