8 blockbusters in Animash Features

The Animash Features begin with ParaNorman, the opening film for 2012 Anim'est, and continues with other 7 titles. Arrugas, the Spanish production directed by Ignacio Ferreras, is a story about the friendship between two patients from a nursing home who discover the beauty of life only at its end. Le magasin des suicides, Frenchman Patrice Leconte's last film, screened for the first time at Cannes (out of competition) will delight black humor's fans. Besides this film, France has a strong presence, with another two titles: Le Tableau by Jean-François Paris Laguionie and Un monstre à Paris, an adventure of the early twentieth century, directed by Bibo Bergeron and produced by Luc Besson. Last, but not least, the Japanese animation Karigurashi no Arrietty by Hiromasa Yonebayashi, an animation made in Hayao Miyazaki's studio, and the U.S. studios' 3D blockbusters: Coraline (d. Henry Selick) or Dr. Seuss' The Lorax (d. Chris Renaud & Kyle Balda).
