Anim’est 2016 announces the films in competition

The most recent animated productions from countries all over the world, many recently rewarded with prestigious awards, national and world premieres, all on the big screen of the 11^th edition of Anim’est Romania

The 11^th edition of Anim’est International Animation Film Festival is bringing in Romania the most recent animated production from countries on five continents, selected in five competitive sections.

The five feature films in competition come from Europe, USA and New Zealand and will surprise by their topics and the choice of techniques, embarking the viewers in surprising journeys.

The 39 short films in the international competition come from 28 countries. One of them will be awarded the Anim’est Trophy and will be automatically included in the list of films to be selected on the short list of Cartoon d’Or, the pan-European award for the best animated short film of the year.

The student films in competition are 32 surprisingly fresh creations coming both from schools with a recognized tradition and from countries with emerging animation production.

As a tradition, our music video competition brings together different music genres with a strong visual expression, while the 20 short films for children are just as many lovely, tender, curious and beautifully designed creations addressed to viewers aged 3 to 12.
