AniMusic Night- an intense night at Control Club

The video & advertising section is part of the first competitive Anim’est edition. This year, however, viewers will get a different night.

Thursday, October 11, from 21:00, we will initiate AniMusic Night in Control Club. The video & advertising section’s projection will be followed by a musical and a special visual performance.

The competition presents 25 animation clips and 11 spots. The newest clips are: Gotye, Parov Stelar, Le Peuple de l'herbe, Louise Attaque or Grinderman, Nick Cave's new band. "Don’t Worry, We'll Be Watching" - Gotye has been selected in major festivals this year, as

Annecy or Berlin. From Annecy we also have the Polish clip, "Pirate's Life" - We Cut Corners, and the French animation for "Do I Have Power" - Timber Timbre competed at Clermont-Ferrand

and Tribeca. The competition includes a clip against citizens' rights violations made for Amnesty International or advertisements from companies like Avira, Nespresso, Toyota and the French Railways Paths.

After the projections, Warren Suicide LIVE will be animating the atmosphere in Control Club, an electro-punk-art experimental band. Warren Suicide means Nackt and Cherie, and more... 3 albums, 8 singles, dozens of compilations and remixes. The band held concerts in major Europe festivals such as Rock am Ring, Glastonbury or Roskilde, and in 2007 organized some workshops and took part in collective happenings in Germany and Sweden. Their next album, "WORLD WARREN III", will be released on October 28.

The video & advertising award will be offered by a jury of three Romanians from the animation or advertising area. Cătălin Rulea is an artist and musician, best known as the frontman of the Toulouse Lautrec band. He studied graphics, having many exhibitions at home and abroad, but also worked as an art director for companies like Y & R, Publicis, Grey Worldwide, Next Advertising or DRAFTFCB, being awarded Epica, AD Print, Golden Drum, Golden Hammer, Ad'Or. He also developed soundtracks for commercials, radio spots. Dan Panaitescu is an independent animator, and an old friend of Anim'est, after receiving this section’s trophy two years ago. Moreover, he was a lead animator on the well-known Crulic, directed by Anca Damian, and on the animated documentary The Temptress (d. David Kinsella). Cristian Simion graduated from journalism and then started advertising. In 2006 he became a copywriter at Ogilvy, where he remained until today and in 2010 he became Group Creative Director.
