Animusic Night: Music Video & Ad Competition & Minus Live-act
Music Video & Ad, one of the most loved competition sections of the festival, gathers this year 14 commissioned shorts for famous brands like Unilever, Coca Cola, Cadbury and Orange Romania, and 25 music videos of artists like Bonobo, Arctic Monkeys or Basement Jaxx. Following the tradition of this competition section, the films are screened in a non-conventional location, outside the theatre: Thursday October 9th at Re:Animation Hub, at 10 p.m.
Do I Wanna Know is this year’s piece by Arctic Monkeys on their album AM, and the video, with sound waves that come to life into human shapes will surely be a familiar, yet fresh item in the competition. The Irish band We Cut Corners bring the video of their song Best Friend, a 2D animation inspired by recent unrests catching mental antinomy of passive-aggressive state of mind. Another highlight is Bye Bye Macadam, produced by French DJ Rone, a black and white animation about a place somewhere between a dream and a cosmic hallucination. Dog Blood, that is Skrillex and Boys Noize, are in competition with the film of Chella Ride, a 2D/3D trippy video directed by Golden Wolf, while composer and pianist Carly Paradis bring The Hope Of A Favourable Outcome, a hypnotic infinite zoom music video created entirely from Victorian phenakistocopes. Here is another highlight of the competition: Bonobo’s Cirrus, a 1962 film about consumerism manipulated by Cyriak.
The screening is followed by a live-act by Minus (Daniel Stanciu), one of the most famous Romanian artists in improvisation, with a various selection of EPs with Arhiva 7 and Local Records, two representative labels of the Romanian electronic scene, and a graduate of the notorius Red Bull Music Academy.
The tickets can be purchased at eventbook.ro, starting next week, and also at the venue, in the evenings of the screenings.
The price of a ticket for Animusic Night is 15 lei.
