Dog of God

Livonia, 1692. Drenched in autumn rain and darkness, a small village becomes the stage for disturbed events. As a relic is stolen from Priest Bukholcs' quarters, he accuses the enigmatic tavern maid, Neze, of the robbery. A trial is set by Klods, a baron struggling with infertility, who discovers the aphrodisiac properties of an otherworldly plant brought to him from Africa. The accusations are disrupted by the arrival of a 82 year old wanderer, self proclaimed as Dog of God, who claims knowledge of the relic's whereabouts—it’s been taken to Hell. Chaos, orchestrated by the shaman, ensues, culminating in a trial by water for Neze and triggering a sacrament that unleashes suppressed desires of the village people.
