EROTICA – The Night of Erotic Animation: Beyond Taboo and Inhibition
On Tuesday, October 6, at 11 PM, check any prejudice at the door of the Peasant Museum Cinema and fully enjoy the season’s spiciest late-night screening. Curated by Jakub Spevák (Slovakia), the EROTICA selection will explore bodies, desires, fantasies, and the fluidity of identity through explicit shorts.
The program brings together 16 short films from around the world, which promise to map out the vast territory of intimacy through radical graphic styles, dark humor, and sensory metaphors.
Identity, Vulnerability and the Search for Closeness
The search for intimacy takes unexpected forms when characters face their own insecurities and desires:
-
IMMATURE (directed by Eddy Wu): an animated documentary probing the fluidity of gender identity through the lens of body image, following the experiences and self-discovery of a gay transgender man.
-
Cosmonauts (directed by Leo Černic): an intergalactic cruise for solo travelers searching for a touch, or a scrap of affection, among the stars.
-
What to Say (directed by Tereza Burianová): an intimate exploration of the unexpected physical closeness in a crowded room; the protagonist’s overwhelming emotions leave her speechless.
Late-Night Excess, Bizarre Satire, Dark Fantasies
Subconscious thoughts and unconventional impulses rise to the surface in animated stories brimming with dark humor and visual oddities:
-
Underground Lovers (directed by Gianluigi Toccafondo): inspired by sci-fi cinema and Japanese erotic culture, this short packs the punch of a feature film into a feverish descent through Tokyo's excesses, substances, and neon lights.
-
Skin Flick (directed by Louise Bailly, Daniela Del Castello, Alice Levy, Bruno De Mendonça, Elifsu Meriç, Joey Quoc Tran): a grotesque satire in which an adult film actress stars in the Devil's movies in exchange for beauty – until her attraction to a runaway bride upends her plans.
-
Courtship.com (directed by Ann Dinh): a bizarre comedy about a lonely businessman seeking human connection online, despite his eccentric fetish of wanting to be a tennis ball.
Pure Sensuality and Organic Metaphors
The body becomes a poetic space where nature, fantasy and physical attraction merge with no filters:
-
Sensual (Germany, 2026; directed by Tanja Nuijten): snails gliding over lips, snakes slipping between fingers – a poetic invitation into the dynamics of foreplay through unusual tactile metaphors.
-
Cherry, Passion Fruit (Portugal, Brazil, 2024; directed by Renato José Duque): a journey deep into a rainforest where burning desire takes shape on the border between passion and pain.
-
My Name is Lilith (Belgium, France, 2025; directed by Leo Luna Robert-Tourneur): a mythic reimagining in which Lilith plummets from the heavens while Adam and Eve share a far too small bathtub.
