A night of shocking films and live music at Patria Cinema
Creepy Animation Night 2 –Anim’est International Animation Film Festival’s night dedicated of bizarre animated films, visuals and live music, is back after a successful first edition in 2009, as part of the programme of the most important animation film festival in Romania: on Friday, October 15th 2010, from 11 p.m. until dawn, the films carefully selected by Anim’est director, Mihai Mitrică will shake up Patria Cinema, along with music from Matze and live drawings by Andrei Fantana screened in the biggest cinema in Bucharest.
A one of a kind event on the Romanian festival scenery, Creepy Animation Night 2 is coming back to put the hearts and minds of the viewers to the test with 23 provocative short films from 17 countries, ready to „fill the night” at Patria Cinema with three programmes placed between live shows from Matze and Andrei Fantana.
Disturbing short films like the apocalyptic Origin of Creatures (dir. Floris Kaayk, Netherlands, 2010), a shocking dystopia placed in an uncertain future, where a colony’s life is troubled by a supernatural phenomenon spreading panic amongst the inhabitants; the gruesome chronicles of the Sliceman trials, MRDRCHAIN (dir. Ondrej Svadlena, Czech Republic-France, 2010), selected for the most important short film festival in the world, in Clermont-Ferrand; or The Twins from Sunset Street (dir. Marc Riba, Anna Solanas, Spain, 2010), winner of the Shadows Shorts competition at the Transylvania International Film Festival are just some of the titles giving the viewers the chills on Creepy Animation Night 2.
The short film programmes will be divided by an extraordinary performance, an absolute premiere for a Romanian cinema: welknown Romanian Dj, Matze, will be mixing live on the Patria Cinema stage, and visual artist, Andrei Fantana, will be illustrating the audio arrangement with live, spontaneous drawing, on the Patria Cinema screen, during two 45 minutes „interventions”- between the first and the second, as well as between the second and the third short film programme.
