Patria Cinema screening of Japanese feature film Summer Wars

Summer Wars (dir. Mamoru Hosoda), the Japanese feature film selected for the 2010 Anim’est Competition, presented by Groupama, is being screened Tuesday, October 12th, at Patria Cinema, from 10:30 p.m. The film tells the story of Keiji Koiso, an 11th grade maths genius. He takes on a summer job offered by Natsuki’s family, the girl he secretly has a crush on. On his arrival, he finds out about the planning of a family reunion, celebrating the 90th birthday of the family’s head, Sakae, and he is informed that he must act as Natsuki’s fiancée in front of her. In the meanwhile, his efforts of solving a mathematical equation cause the collision between The Earth and a parallel world.
