Satoshi Kon Retrospective

Anim’est pays homage to director Satoshi Kon, one of the „sacred monsters” of anime,  through a retrospective. Kon disappeared in August 2010. This retrospective will showcast his most representative features: Perfect Blue (Japan, 1997) – his first feature, a hit at fantasy and animation film festivals; Paprika (Japan, 2006) – the movie selected for the Official Competition of the Venice Film Festival; and Tokyo Godfathers (Japan, 2003) – the feature that won Best Animated feature at the 2003 Fantastic Film Festival in Sitges.

This Satoshi Kon Retrospective is supported by the Japan Foundation.
