Creepy Animation Night 2 is getting near!
Only a few more days left until the start for Creepy Animation Night 2 – the night of bizarre animated films, visuals and live music out of the Anim’est International Animation Film Festival, will be shaking the Bucharest cultural scene. Friday, October 15th 2010, at Patria Cinema, starting 11 p.m. and ending at dawn, the Bucharest audience is going on a date with a unique and daring film selection, minors prohibited, and also with an exceptional double live act, a Romanian absolute premiere of music by Matze and drawings by Andrei Fantana, erupting in front of the Anim’est viewers, from the speakers and the Patria Cinema screen. The Creepy Animation Night 2 event is recommended by Cinemagia.ro and supported by Jameson.
Creepy Animation Night 2 means 23 unconventional short films from 17 countries, chosen from the films entered in the festival and from the ones viewed at other film festivals that matched the Creepy concept – not just horror films, but, most of all, unique sensory experiences, declared the festival’s director and selection maker Mihai Mitrică. I’m happy I get the chance to attend such a premiere for a Romanian festival, and it’s only for the better that it is taking place at an animated film festival. Our goal is to get the audience more acquainted with the process of bringing a drawing to life, adds graphic artist Andrei Fantana. The Creepy Animation Night films are a one of a kind experience and we will do our best to make the most of the excellent sound system at Patria Cinema, as well as of their big screen, says Cristian Stanciu „Matze”.
The Origin of Creatures (dir. Floris Kaayk, The Netherlands, 2010), a shocking dystopia placed in an uncertain future, where the life of a colony is troubled by a supernatural phenomena spreading panic amongst the inhabitants; the dark chronicles of the Sliceman trials, MRDRCHAIN (dir. Ondrej Svadlena, The Czech Republic-France, 2010), selected this year at the most important short film festival in the world, Clermont-Ferrand; or The Twins from Sunset Street (dir. Marc Riba, Anna Solanas, Spain, 2010), winner of the Shadows Shorts competition at the Transylvania International Film Festival are just a few of the titles giving the Creepy Animation Night 2 audience the chills Friday night at patria Cinema.
Jury member in this year’s Anim’est edition’s Video & Advertising section, Cristian Stanciu Matze has been on performing the Romanian electronic music scene as early as 1992, then, since 1996, he has been a co-founder of Yama Studios, a production company where he won numerous national and international awards for the singles he produced. In 1998 he started the NSK music project, together with Electric Brother and Dj Vasile. Together with Dj Vasile, Matze produces the weekly show called Free zone aired on Guerrilla Radio.
Andrei Fantana is a complete artist. He graduated the Acting section at the UNATC „ I.L. Caragiale” in Bucharest, then moved on to painting after he met Andrew Jones and Jason Manley, who guided him in this craft.
