Steven Woloshen at Union Cinema
The Canadian animator Steven Woloshen, jury member of the Student Film Competition, Romanian Film and Balkanimation, and supporter of the animated film workshop Scratch-o-topia, presents a program for 1982-2011 short films on Saturday, October 8, at 18:00 at Union Cinema.
27 short films by Steven Woloshen who used the revolutionary techniques that made him famous in the world of independent animated film, will run at Union Cinema. Woloshen started off in the early 1980s through a series of promising 16 mm format films, using his own techniques: "direct" abstract animation, which does not use at all the camera, but processes the film instead, using ink, paint, duct tape and translucent objects. For 10 years, Woloshen worked in advertising and then in the late '90s, he returned to independent film direction. His videos and visuals were presented at festivals and exhibitions of worldwide contemporary art.
