
The Short Film and Student Film Competitions continue, Wednesday the 13th
The Sci-fi film Artificial Paradise, Inc. (dir. Jean-Paul Frenay, 2009), awarded the Special Mention at the Fargo Film Festival; the ingenious Human beings (r. Mashaallah Mohammed, Iran, 2009), or the heartfelt family story in 20 Years (dir. Barbaro Joel Ortiz, Cuba, 2009), a South American film festival hit, are just a few of the films scheduled for the festival’s screening of the third Short Film Competition programme on Wednesday, from 4:30 p.m., at Patria Cinema. The Student Competition, presented by Coolbazaar.ro, arrives at Scala Cinema with a second short film programme, Wednesday, from 5 p.m. The programme will feature award winning titles like Benigni (dir. Elli Vourinen, Pinja Partanen, Jasmiini Ottelin, Finland, 2009), offered the Audience Award at the important Premier Plans Film Festival and the Honors Mention at the Tampere Film Festival, or Dog-walking Ground (dir. Leonid Shmelkov, Russia, 2009), the Grand Prize winner at the Moscow Film festival, and 2009 Suzdal Sound Award winner, along with films „found” by film critic Laurenţiu Brătan, the selection maker for the Anim’est Student Film competition.
