"The Ugly Duckling" - Tuesday at Patria Cinema
And last but not least, at Patria Cinema, starting 18:30, audience of all ages are expected to see the Ugly Duckling (d. Garri Bardin, 2010). This feature film is based on the well-known Hans Christian Andersen’s story about the duck that couldn’t be in a tear anywhere. It is a film about intolerance towards those who speak another language, differ in color or ... plumage. The dialogue is kept to a minimum (except for a few funny songs) and on the background parts of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake ballet, we are witnessing a touching story about the difficulty of being different, strewn with political ideas that will go unnoticed by young audience but cannot leave the adult audience impassible.
