Trippy Animation Night Vol. 13: Psychotronic Journeys and Hypnotic Archives

On Saturday, October 3, at 11 PM sharp, the Peasant Museum Cinema will become a site for nocturnal explorations, oddities and unfiltered visual experiments.

Curated and hosted by the one and only Michael Helmerhorst, the 13th Trippy Animation Night will unleash on the silver screen a collage of 13 pieces “made by real life artists far from the ever-expanding regions of AI.” As Michael promises, 13 may not be everyone's lucky number, but under Trippy tutelage it guarantees a spectacular selection, deliberately built to go against the current.

What's on this year's menu?

• Dante’s Inferno: a gripping descent into classic imagery alongside interpretations by Georges Méliès, Ub Iwerks, and Aleksandr Sokurov.

• Gallery of Fine Arts: an animated gallery that brings famous works by Hieronymus Bosch, Giorgio de Chirico, Edvard Munch, Salvador Dalí, and Max Ernst to wriggling, explosive life.

• Bizarre archives and vintage pop culture: from Weird Commercials and old-timey Penny Arcade Peepshows, to forgotten music clips (Yesteryear's Jukebox Clips) and jazzy short films.

• Unique visual trips: themed segments such as Animated Tattoos, Gay Encounters of the Third Kind, Gastronomic Explorations, and Trapdoors of Perception.
