Pixar comes to 2012 Anim’est

This year, Anim’est prepared a surprise for every animation fan. For the first time in Romania, a representative of the famous animation studio Pixar will provide an authentic lesson of directing and producing an animated film. Daniel McCoy, technical director for a number of known and award-winning films like "A Bug's Life", "Toy Story 2," "Monsters Inc.", "Finding Nemo", "Up", "Toy Story 3", "The Incredibles" and "Ratatouille" comes at Patria Cinema, Thursday, Oct. 11, at 19:00.

Daniel McCoy began his adventure in the world of animation in 1989, serving as the technical director for a number of Pixar short and feature films. He was one of the first people who worked with the famous software developed by Pixar, RenderMan, a plug-in compatible with major 3D animation software platforms.

Recently, McCoy was also a technical director for La Luna, the short film nominated for an Oscar this year. This short film presents a boy’s first day of work. Accompanied by his father and grandfather, he goes on a nocturnal adventure at sea in a boat. Symbolically initiated into the world of men by offering him a cap, he realises things are more complicated than he imagined.

Daniel McCoy is currently working on the further adventures of the beloved characters from "Monsters Inc." and "Finding Nemo". The two films will be released in 3D in June 2013, respectively 2016.
