Pixar Presentation at Anim'est 2012

At 7pm, Patria Cinema will be hosting a very special event: for the first time in Romania, Daniel McCoy, a representative of the famous animation studio Pixar will give viewers an authentic lesson about directing and producing an animated film.

Daniel McCoy began his adventure in the world of animation at Pixar, in 1989, working for a series of long and short films. He was one of the first people who worked with the famous software developed by Pixar, RenderMan, a plug-in compatible with major 3D animation software platforms.

Recently, McCoy was a technical director for La Luna, the short film nominated for an Oscar this year. This short film shows a boy’s first day of work.  Along with his father and grandfather, the boy goes on an adventure at sea in a boat. Symbolically initiated into the world of men by being offered a cap, he realises that things are more complicated than he imagined.

The audience will be able to watch the short film during Daniel McCoy’s presentation.
