Creepy Animation Night: face your fears on October 11th at 11 PM
Almost three hours of intensity, mystery and jumpscares: the 23 horror stories in this year’s Creepy Animation Night selection will spook even the bravest of audiences. Don’t believe us? Join us on Friday, October 11, at 11 PM, at Sala Luceafărul (formerly, CinemaPRO), to see if the short films we’ve cunningly crocheted into a tapestry of fear and horror will make you perceive the monsters under the chair as your blood freezes over just before you’re submerged into an ocean of the grotesque – or, you know, you just gasp a little.
The menu for Animest’s most popular special event includes Ghost of the Dark Path (directed by Fish Wang, Taiwan), Legion (directed by Kamil Wójcik & Cat Kaczmarek, Poland), Moving Parts (directed by Hugo Docking, UK), Rabbits Have Red Eyes (directed by Lee Yoonsun & Choi Jiwon, South Korea), Before Dying, the Wendigo's Shadow (directed by Alvar Vielsa, Spain), and Welcome to Nuclear World (directed by Xiya Wang, Tao Zhang, Yifanchen, & Yvbai Guan, China).
There will be a break between the two halves of the event – but don’t relax just yet, because this is the break to break all breaks: a spooky live performance by electronic music pioneer Cristi Stanciu aka Matze and Robert OBERT, one of Bucharest’s most famous street artists. The duo are also competing in the Romanian Film section this year, through The Core, OBERT’s short film scored by Matze, a unique metaphorical depiction of a common consciousness from which materialized instances of feminine and masculine emerge, only to morph again into a single core.
